Rogério Panizzutti, M.D., Ph.D.

Trained in leading international institutions, in a broad range of subjects ranging from neuroscience and psychiatry, to public health, leadership and entrepreneurship, Rogerio holds a Medical Doctor and a Ph.D. degree from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro and the Novartis Biomedical Institute, Switzerland, and is board-certified in Psychiatry by the Brazilian Medical Association.

He was Atlantic Fellow at the Global Brain Health Institute, Trinity College Dublin; Fellow of the Human Frontiers Science Program at the University of California, San Francisco; and Affiliated Member of The World Academy of Science – TWAS. He is currently Associate Professor at the Biomedical Sciences and the Psychiatry Institutes of the Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro and Researcher of the Foundation for Research Support of the Rio de Janeiro State (FAPERJ) and the Brazilian National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq). Dr. Panizzutti is the director of the Neuroscience and Brain Enhancement Laboratory and co-founder of NeuroForma Technologies.

Panizzutti works at the intersection of basic and clinical neuroscience, psychiatry, and public health. His objective is to impact society by producing and implementing scientific knowledge to promote brain health. Panizzutti wants to foster a major shift in how we understand healthy aging and spur the development of innovative and transformative approaches to promote brain health.
